Bert Dodson, Jr. honored by Lynchburg, VA Fire Department (Lynchburg, VA) - The Lynchburg, VA Fire Department held its seventh annual Employee Awards Ceremony on October 10th, 2007 at Peakland United Methodist Church. The ceremony recognized many accomplishments that occurred throughout the year, including career achievement awards and medals of merit.

At the ceremony, an Advocacy Award was presented to Bert Dodson, Jr., the President and CEO of Dodson Pest Control. Dodson and the company were recognized for their continued support of the Operation Smoke Detector project. Operation Smoke Detector is a community service initiative that enables every home in Lynchburg to have a working smoke detector.

Dodson Pest Control has its corporate headquarters in Lynchburg, and operates 34 offices serving Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and the District of Columbia metropolitan area. It is one of the largest family-owned and operated pest management companies in the country.

Bert Dodson, Jr. Named 2006 Virginia Small Business Champion

Dodson Bros. President Bert Dodson, Jr. was recently honored as the 2006 Small Business Champion in Virginia.
Lynchburg, VA - Bert Dodson, Jr., President and CEO of Dodson Pest Control, was named in October the 2006 Small Business Champion in Virginia.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) presented the award. The NFIB is Virginia's largest small business advocacy group.

Dodson serves on the NFIB Virginia Leadership Council, which advises the organization on public policy initiatives impacting small business. He has also been instrumental in organizing the NFIB Virginia Lynchburg Area Action Council, a grassroots activist group connecting small business owners to lawmakers.

Virginia Pest Management Association Honors Dr. Eric Smith

Dr. Eric Smith, was recently named recipient of the Virginia Pest Management Industry Stewardship Award.
(Lynchburg, VA) - Dr. Eric Smith, director of technical services with Dodson Pest Control, was recently named the recipient of the Virginia Pest Management Industry Stewardship Award. The award was presented to Smith at the VPMA's October meeting in Richmond.

 

He was honored for his outstanding service and dedication to the Association and the pest management industry.

Smith is a board certified entomologist and has been a leading educator and trainer in pest management for over 25 years.
