Bert Dodson, Jr. Wins Third Term on Lynchburg City Council

Dodson Bros. President Bert Dodson, Jr. will be returning to Lynchburg City Council for a third term.
(Lynchburg, VA) - The president and CEO of Dodson Bros. Exterminating Co., Inc. of Lynchburg, Virginia has won re-election to a third four-year term in office on the Lynchburg City Council. Bert Dodson, Jr. retained one of three at-large seats in the May 2nd election.

The election drew a record-breaking number of 12 candidates to fill only 3 seats. Altogether, there are seven seats on Lynchburg City Council.

Dodson is also a former Vice-Mayor of the City.

Dodson said he is "eager to continue working hard for City support of public education, law enforcement and firefighters. We've made a lot of progress in our City and we need to keep making progress."

Lynchburg has a population of approximately 68,000.

Dodson Bros has its corporate headquarters in Lynchburg, and operates 34 offices serving Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and the District of Columbia metropolitan area. Dr. Eric Smith Receives Crown Technical Service Award

Dr. Eric Smith, was recently named winner of a prestigious industry award -- the Crown Technical Service Award.
(Lynchburg, VA) Dodson Pest Control's Director of Technical Services, Dr. Eric Smith, PhD, was recently named winner of the pest control industry's first ever Crown Technical Service Award.

The award, sponsored by PCT (Pest Control Technology) magazine and Syngenta Products, was presented to Smith in honor of his years of dedication and service to the pest control industry.

During the past 25 years, Dr. Smith has become a leading educator and trainer in pest management.

Eric Smith Named President of International Pest Management Fraternity

(Lynchburg, VA) -Entomologist Eric Smith, PhD, has been elected president of the pest management fraternity of Pi Chi Omega.

Dr. Smith was installed as president during the national convention of the National Pest Management Association in October in Nashville, TN. He will serve a 2-year term.

Smith is the Director of Technical Services with Dodson Pest Control and has worked in the pest management industry for over 25 years.

Established in 1944, Dodson Pest Control has its corporate headquarters in Lynchburg, VA with 32 offices throughout Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Pi Chi Omega is a 55-year old international fraternity of over 500 pest management professionals from around the world. The fraternity was established to further the science of pest management, to promote the career of entomology and raise standards for professionalism in the industry.
